Kansas City Royals starter Danny Duffy left Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox in the first inning. Information regarding the nature of Duffy's apparent injury have not yet emerged.

Duffy retired two batters in the bottom of the first before being removed from the game; he finished his day with one strikeout and one walk. Luis Mendoza, who has made four starts this season, was brought out of the bullpen to replace Duffy.
The White Sox and Royals are scoreless in the second inning.
