The Chicago White Sox (10-9) have been surprising competitive out of the gate in 2012, but a quick three-game losing streak has the potential to throw things off track for a team that typically starts slowly in April. Chicago lost the first of a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night (while you were watching the 2012 NFL Draft), but the good news is that John Danks, Jake Peavy and Gavin Floyd are the next three starters in line to pitch.
Danks (2-2, 5.11 ERA) has been unspectacular so far this season, and it has a lot to do with the fact that he is on pace to post the highest walk rate of his major league career and he has allowed the highest rate of home runs per nine innings since 2007. The sample size is small, and it all probably means Danks is due for a regression in both respects, but the Sox could really use a solid start right now. Chicago is currently tied with the Detroit Tigers and just percentage points behind the Cleveland Indians for the top spot in the AL Central.
