Gavin Floyd gave up five runs, White Sox hitters struck out 17 times and Chicago lost to the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 on Thursday afternoon. The O's took three of four games from the White Sox.

Despite their issues at the plate, though, the White Sox had a chance to turn the game around in the ninth inning. After getting the first two outs of the inning, Baltimore closer Jim Johnson loaded the bases, giving Alex Rios a chance to get his team back in the game. But Rios struck out looking to end the threat.
With the loss, Chicago fell to 6-6 on the season; the Orioles improved to 8-5.
