Orioles Vs. White Sox Final Score: Chicago Falls Apart Late In Defeat

The Chicago White Sox took a 4-1 lead into the eighth inning and 4-2 lead into the ninth inning tonight at U.S. Cellular Field against the Baltimore Orioles, but a bullpen implosion cost Chicago the victory. The Orioles hit a pair of solo home runs in the ninth to tie the game and scored six runs in the 10th to defeat the White Sox 10-4. The loss drops Chicago to 5-4, while Baltimore improves to 6-4.

New closer Hector Santiago allowed home runs to pinch hitter Nolan Reimold and then center fielder Adam Jones to blow the save for the Sox. Once it got to extras, the South Siders didn't have a chance. Cather Matt Wieters hit a grand slam as part of of a six-run 10th inning. All runs were credited to White Sox reliever Zach Stewart.

A.J. Pierzynski hit his third home run of the season in the second inning for the White Sox.
