White Sox Vs. Tigers: Pierzynski Triple Gives Chicago 3-2 Lead

The Chicago White Sox were held scoreless through the first four innings, but after a LF Dayan Viciedo home run and an C A.J. Pierzynski triple, Chicago has taken a 3-2 lead over the Detroit Tigers.

SP Max Scherzer dominated the White Sox lineup through the first four frames, striking out 9 White Sox hitters and allowing only two hits. But in the bottom of the fifth, Viciedo powered a home run to left center to give the Sox a 1-0 lead. Then, in the bottom of the 6th inning, CF Alejandro De Aza walked, 1B Paul Konerko knocked him in with an RBI single, and then Pierzynski knocked the ball to deep right for an RBI triple.

In the top of the 7th inning, however, the Tigers finally got to SP Jake Peavy, hitting a two-run homer for a 3-2 White Sox lead.
