2012 White Sox Roster: Chicago Cuts 14 Players

The Chicago White Sox are in the process of paring down the roster for the start of the regular season, and on Monday the team announced that 14 players were cut, including Jared Mitchell and Trayce Thompson:

Jared Mitchell and Trayce Thompson were among those reassigned to minor league camp. Both outfielders had good showings in big league camp, impressing both at the plate and in the field.

Anthony Carter, Charles Leesman, Deunte Heath, Simon Castro, Donnie Veal, Pedro Fernandez, Ozzie Martinez and Jhan Marinez were all optioned to triple-A Charlotte.

Nestor Molina and Jose Quintana were optioned to double-A Birmingham, while Michael Blanke and Tyler Kuhn were sent to minor league camp along with Mitchell and Thompson.
