White Sox vs. Indians final score: Chicago crushes Cleveland in final game

The Chicago White Sox had a disappointing end to the 2012 season, losing out on the playoffs to the Detroit Tigers after leading the AL Central for most of the summer. But they went out with a bang in Game 162, defeating the Indians, 9-0, behind three home runs from first baseman Dan Johnson.

Those home runs were the first three of the season for Johnson, who had a memorable home run for the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 162 of last season. Johnson has been up with the White Sox since early September, and got a start today as Adam Dunn, among others, got the night off. Paul Konerko and Dayan Viciedo also hit homers on the night for the White Sox.

Chicago starter Gavin Floyd had a stellar game on the mound, allowing only three hits across seven innings while striking out six and walking two. Cleveland starter David Huff allowed seven runs in 4⅔ innings pitched, though only three of them were earned.
