The White Sox awakened from their offensive slumber in a big way late Monday night in Anaheim, California; they hit three home runs, led by Carlos Quentin’s three-run shot in the seventh inning, and shut out the Angels 8-0.

Gordon Beckham’s third homer of the season and Alexei Ramirez’s fourth, both off Ervin Santana, helped the Sox fashion a 4-0 lead going into the seventh; after Santana let the leadoff man in that inning get on base, he was removed for Trevor Bell.

One baserunner later, Bell served up the three-run jack to Quentin, who drove in five runs in all. Quentin now leads the Sox with eight HR and 23 RBI.

Meanwhile, Edwin Jackson was shutting down the Angels; he allowed just five hits and a walk in seven innings, and Chris Sale and Will Ohman threw a scoreless inning each, something the Sox bullpen has really needed lately.

The win gave the Sox their first three-game winning streak of 2011. The two teams will meet again in Anaheim Tuesday night at 9:05 p.m. CDT.
