The Chicago Fire are traveling west to visit the Colorado Rapids on Sunday as the early portion of the MLS season rolls on. The Fire are currently 1-0-1 on the season and a win would help to push them away from the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference standings.
Chicago's season opener against Montreal ended in a 1-1 draw after the Fire's Dominic Oduro scored the game-tying goal in the 71st minute. That was followed up by a 1-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union that saw Oduro score the game's only goal.
The Rapids are currently 2-0-1 on the season, but they're coming off a rough 4-1 defeat on the road against the New York Red Bulls. Colorado had won its previous two games against Columbus and Philadelphia to begin the season.
