Cubs Prospects 2012: Brett Jackson Will Be September Callup, According To Report

The Chicago Cubs may have yet another prospect heading to the Friendly Confines soon. According to the Cubs Den blog, OF Brett Jackson is reportedly poised for a September callup:

Tom has learned through a source that the Cubs plan on calling up Brett Jackson but, barring an injury, it won't happen until the rosters expand in September. Jackson's contact issues have been well documented and it has probably cost him an earlier call-up.

The Cubs prospect, 24 years old as of Thursday, has a .258/.339/.485 slash through 459 PA in Triple-A. But despite his 15 home runs and 26 stolen bases, Jackson's offensive reputation has taken a considerable hit due to his 33.6 percent strikeout-rate. The Cubs front office appears to be unwilling to move him to the MLB level until he shows an improvement in his discipline.
