The Cubs and Athletics swapped minor league catchers in a trade on Monday, sending Blake Lalli to Oakland for Anthony Recker.
Recker was on Oakland's Opening Day roster, but was sent down to Triple-A Sacramento after 13 games played with a .129 batting average. In Sacramento, the 28-year-old has hit .265 with nine home runs, 19 RBI and a .358 on-base percentage.
As for Lalli, he made his Major League debut with the Cubs earlier this season. He went 2-for-15 in six games before being sent back down to Triple-A Iowa, where the 29-year old hit .259 with seven home runs, 40 RBI and a .293 on-base percentage.
Recker was assigned to Iowa after the trade.
