Cubs' Chris Rusin Could Make MLB Debut Against Brewers On Tuesday

The Chicago Cubs are considering having starting pitcher Chris Rusin make his MLB debut against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, according to Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago.

Manager Dale Sveum told reporters that the Cubs are seriously looking at Rusin, and ESPN Chicago reports that a decision will be made after Sunday's game.

Rusin, 25, was Chicago's fourth-round pick in 2009 out of the University of Kentucky. Spending this season with Triple-A Iowa, the lefty has posted a 4.59 ERA with 87 strikeouts and 52 walks over 133.1 innings, solid but underwhelming numbers in his fourth professional season.

Sveum added to reporters that fellow rookie pitcher Brooks Raley is expected to stay in the rotation going forward despite some mixed results so far. Over three starts, Raley has a 7.63 ERA with 10 strikeouts and six walks in 15.1 innings.
