Cubs Rumors: Matt Garza To Rangers 'Unlikely,' Blue Jays And Reds Are Still Trade Options

The Chicago Cubs are working hard to deal pitchers Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster prior to the MLB non-waiver trade deadline, but suitors willing to part with young pitching prospects have been hard to come by recently. Garza suffered a drop in his trade stock earlier in the week due to fluid buildup in his right triceps, but after a solid bullpen session on Monday teams are starting to ask about him again.

The Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds have all been linked to Garza in trade rumors, but Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted on Tuesday morning that a deal with the Rangers has become "unlikely."

The good news is that Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that the Reds are believed to be in the mix for Garza:

With a lot to do and very little time remaining to make it all happen, Tuesday should be a busy day for the Cubs' front office.
