The deadline trade rumors surrounding Chicago Cubs SP Ryan Dempster appear to be as rich as ever. Multiple sources suggest the Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers are still working on a deal involving Dempster and possibly LF Alfonso Soriano:

Dempster, 35, is have a career year with the Cubs. He sports a 2.25 ERA and 3.40 FIP through 104 innings. He is in the final year of his contract with the Chicago Cubs, but holds a 10-and-5 no trade clause that allows him to veto any trade proposal.

Soriano, 36, is also having a solid year at the plate and in the field, hitting 19 home runs with 3.0 wins above replacement, according to Fangraphs.com.
