Cubs starter Matt Garza has left the team in order to be with his wife, who is expecting the couple's fourth child. He is not likely to pitch this weekend, according to Carrie Muskat.

Garza is also dealing with soreness in his right triceps; he left his July 21 start against St. Louis after three innings because of the injury. The Cubs don't plan to place Garza on the disabled list at this point.
