Marlins Vs. Cubs Final Score: Miami Destroys Travis Wood In 9-5 Victory

Chicago Cubs starter Travis Wood allowed eight hits and eight earned runs over 4.2 innings as the Miami Marlins defeated the North Siders 9-5 on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. The Marlins move to 44-46 with the win, while Chicago falls to 36-53.

Miami broke the game open by scoring three runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth. Omer Infante clubbed a two-run homer in the fourth, and new Marlin Carlos Lee blasted his sixth home run of the year in the fifth.

The Cubs scored three in the eighth inning to mount a modest comeback. Second baseman Jeff Baker finished 2-for-2 with a homer in the fifth for the North Siders in the loss.

Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez went seven innings, allowing nine hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out seven.
