2012 MLB All-Star Game: Jake Peavy Selected As Final Vote Candidate

While the Chicago White Sox will be represented in the 2012 MLB All-Star Game by Paul Konerko, Chris Sale and Adam Dunn, there is a chance that another member of the team could be selected. Jake Peavy, who has been excellent despite having only a 6-5 record, is one of five players who has been selected as a Final Vote candidate.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Final Vote candidate will be selected by fans, who have until Thursday to vote:

The vote gives fans the opportunity to select the final player on each All-Star team. The balloting has begun and continues through Thursday at 3 p.m. Central time.

The American League candidates are all pitchers: Peavy, Kansas City's Jonathan Broxton, Texas' Yu Darvish, Baltimore's Jason Hammel, and Los Angeles Angels' Ernesto Frier.
