PHOTO: Something's Wrong With Travis Wood's Batting Helmet

Stay connected for news and updates

Rarely does one askew logo on a batting helmet so perfectly represent an entire baseball season gone awry, but the Chicago Cubs were blessed with such a moment during Monday night's game with the New York Mets when starting pitcher Travis Wood went to the plate for his first at-bat.

Check out the perfect microcosm of Cubs baseball 2K12, after the jump...

Baseball Is Better With Crooked Logos

It's a fitting way for the North Siders to end the Pre-Anthony Rizzo Era, which officially starts tomorrow when the Cubs' super prospect makes his debut against these same Mets at Wrigley Field. It's hard to remember a Cubs prospect as hyped as Rizzo -- you'd probably have to go back to the days of Corey Patterson. If there's a silver lining to all the pressure staring Rizzo straight it in the face, it's that things can get much worse than this.
