After a bumpy start on Monday against the Cubs, RHP Zach Stewart was optioned to triple-A by the White Sox. They recalled RHP Dylan Axelrod to fill the open roster spot.

Axelrod has made three appearances for the White Sox this season and has a 3.52 ERA in 7-2/3 innings of big league work. He's had a very solid year at AAA, going 5-4 with a 3.18 ERA in 11 starts.
Stewart made 18 appearances for Chicago this season and compiled a 6.00 ERA.
