Josh Beckett Injury: Red Sox RHP Won't Start Against Cubs Sunday

Stay connected for news and updates

Boston Red Sox RHP Josh Beckett will not make his scheduled start against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday; he's experiencing weakness in his shoulder that will require further examination.

More bad news for the Red Sox. They're skipping Josh Beckett on Sunday because of some weakness in his shoulder. He'll be examined further, but for now no DL trip is planned. Beckett was sidelined earlier this season with a strained lat. Franklin Morales will take his place in the rotation, facing the Cubs. That may actually be a good thing for Boston, because the Cubs struggle mightily against lefties.
