Red Sox Vs. Cubs Final Score: Chicago Wins 3-0 Behind Strong Effort From Ryan Dempster

The Chicago Cubs defeated the Boston Red Sox 3-0 on Friday afternoon behind an excellent start from Ryan Dempster. Dempster went seven innings and gave up just four hits and improved his record to 3-3.

It was the third consecutive start in which Dempster did not allow a run; he lowered his ERA to 2.11.

At the plate, the Cubs got to Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka early, scoring three runs over the first two innings. That would prove more than enough.

In the first inning, it was Steve Clevenger that got things going with an RBI double that scored Alfonso Soriano and Tony Campana. In the second inning, David DeJesus singled home Ryan Dempster, who tripled earlier in the frame.
