Cubs Vs. Braves: Paul Maholm Takes The Mound For Wednesday's Rubber Match

After an eighth-inning collapse by reliever Kerry Wood, the Chicago Cubs dropped a winnable game to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night. On Wednesday afternoon, the Cubs and Braves get right back at it for a 1:20 p.m. CT start in the rubber match of their three-game series. Chicago will lean on Paul Maholm (3-2, 5.13 ERA), who has given up just three runs in his last three starts combined (18.1 innings), while the Braves will turn to veteran righty Tim Hudson (1-0, 6.55 ERA).

After a 3-11 start to the season, the Cubs have won nine of their last 16 games and are 12-18 on the year.
