The Chicago Cubs will open the season against the Washington Nationals on Thursday.
The Chicago Cubs won their final Spring Training game on Tuesday 5-3 against the Milwaukee Brewers, and are now clearly focused on Opening Day and their first series versus the upstart Washington Nationals. Chicago Tribune reporter Paul Sullivan recently tweeted the pitching matchups for the season's first series. Here's what they look like:
Match-ups for Cubs-Nats: Dempster-Strasburg in Opener; Garza-Gonzalez on Sat; Samardzija-Zimmerman on Sunday.

The meeting against Strasburg on Opening Day will certainly garner strong interest across the country. The former No. 1 overall draft pick missed most of last season after having Tom John surgery.
