Cubs Vs. Reds Final Score: Chicago Takes 8-6 Victory Over Cincinnati

Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago Cubs offense has been pretty potent here at the start of Cactus League play, and that continued on Monday afternoon, as the Cubs built an early 4-0 lead on Cincinnati and went on to win 8-6. Carlos Marmol earned the win for Chicago despite blowing a save opportunity by allowing three runs in the seventh inning.

After Marmol's struggles, the Cubs found themselves down 6-4 heading into the bottom of the inning, but they responded with three runs of their own to reclaim the lead, then tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to complete the day's scoring.

Alfonso Soriano hit his fourth home run of the spring; Joe Mather and Blake Lalli also went yard for the Cubs.
