Starlin Castro Sexual Assault Allegations: Attorney Says Claims Are 'Baseless'

Early Friday morning a report serviced on CBSChicago.com that Chicago Cubs star shortstop Starlin Castro has been accused of sexual assault by a woman, and just hours after the report, with the help of his attorneys, Jay K. Reisinger and Michael P. Gillespie, Castro has denied the allegations through a statement:

"We are aware of certain allegations that have been made against our client, Starlin Castro. We have thoroughly investigated this matter, and we are confident that these allegations are baseless. Given the sensitive nature of this matter, we cannot comment any further."

The initial police report, says that on Sept. 29 Castro sexual assaulted a women after drinking with her at a night club. The woman claims that after passing out, she woke up to see her attacker, Castro, sexual assaulting her. She screamed and yelled at her attacker who stopped, she then got away and called a friend for a ride.

Twelve hours later, the women went to the hospital where the police then became involved.
