Coverage of the Chicago Bulls during the summer league play in Las Vegas.

The Chicago Bulls lost their summer league opener on Tuesday by falling to the Boston Celtics 79-74 in Las Vegas. While previous tales of triumph from the likes of Nate Robinson and Anthony Randolph shows why you should never put too much stock in the summer league, one encouraging aspect in the loss for the Bulls was the stellar effort from small forward Jimmy Butler. Butler, who's expected to assume a much larger role in Chicago next season, finished with 25 points and seven rebounds. First round pick Marquis Teague had eight points on 4-of-17 shooting.

Boston was led by E'Twaun Moore, who posted 25 points and seven rebounds. Rookie Jared Sullinger finished with seven points and 14 rebounds on 3-of-15 shooting from the field.

Chicago shot just 35.7 percent from the floor (25-of-70).
