The Chicago Bulls have selected Kentucky point guard Marquis Teague with the 29th overall pick in the first round of Thursday night's NBA Draft. It's the team's one and only selection of the night, as their second round pick for this year's draft was traded previously.

Coming into the draft, the Bulls were expected to target a scoring type guard that could handle the ball well in the aftermath of Derrick Rose's major knee injury. By drafting Teague, the Bulls land one of the most athletic point guards in the draft, one that finishes well at the rim but struggles with shooting.

Last season with the Wildcats as a freshman, Teague averaged 10.0 PPG, 2.5 RPG and 4.8 APG while shooting 41 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range. He was the starting point guard for the national champion, a player that generally went higher than No. 29 in most mock drafts this year.

Clearly, the Bulls wanted to add a point guard to address that position given the uncertainty regarding Rose. In Teague, they get a young prospect that could potentially be one of the better value selections in the entire draft.
