NBA Draft 2012: Chicago Bulls Will Select Kansas PG Tyshawn Taylor, According To Report

A Twitter report has been circulating for the last few hours stating that the Chicago Bulls are poised to take Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor with the No. 29 overall pick in tonight's 2012 NBA Draft. We held off on the news for a bit because we're still skeptical, but as the Tribune's K.C. Johnson and others have ran with the report, it's certainly gaining momentum.

Vin Parise is the man on the hook. He is, according to his Twitter bio, a "College Basketball Insider for NBC Sports Network", a title which apparently counts as a proper noun. Looking at his timeline, he isn't a terribly active tweeter, and there's no hint at what his sources might be.

So yeah: I'm a bit skeptical still. Might be true, might not be. As our own Steve von Horn remarked: "That's the quintessential NBA Draft rumor tweet right there: divisive, speculative, probably wrong."

We shall see. Taylor's makeup -- a four-year player from a power program -- would certainly seem to make him appealing to Chicago given the team's past draft tenancies. It's unlike the Bulls to tip their hand, though. The selection of small forward Jimmy Butler came out of left field last year.
