Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has been dealing with a strangely persistent groin injury that has everyone around town concerned about whether he can return to his MVP level heading into the playoffs, but Rose sounds confident that he will be ready at least by Sunday. The league's reigning MVP practiced on Wednesday and is still listed as a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against the Boston Celtics, but the superstar guard seems a lot more confident when talking about Sunday's game than he does about the TNT showcase against Rajon Rondo and Celtics.
K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune tweeted out that Rose is still feeling discomfort, but he plans to warm before the Boston game to see how the injury feels, and that he is playing for sure on Sunday against the Knicks (barring any setbacks). Here is what K.C. Johnson said:
DRose said he will warm up tonight and play if that goes well. Admitted he still has discomfort though. #Bulls

DRose also said he is playing for sure Sunday in New York if he doesn't play tonight vs. Celtics. That's barring a setback of course. #Bulls

In other news, the Bulls signed veteran point guard Mike James for the rest of the season, which should help take the minute load off of Rose when he does return to action. Here is the information you need to find Thursday's matchup:
Game time/date: Thursday, April 5, 2012, 8:30 PM CT
Location: United Center, Chicago, Ill.
TV: TNT
