Derrick Rose Injury: Tom Thibodeau Talks About Decision To Leave Star Guard In Game

Stay connected for news and updates

There was a 1:10 remaining in the fourth quarter with the Chicago Bulls holding a 12-point lead when Chicago's star guard Derrick Rose landed awkwardly on his left knee. Trainers immediately ran to his side and had to help the reigning MVP off the court and into the locker room. It did not look good.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau was asked to explain his decision to leave Rose in the game with such a comfortable lead and only a minute and change left. Here's what Thibodeau said.

Chicago won 103-91, but the injury erases any positive impressions the Bulls were able to make. Rose finished with 23 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.
