The Chicago Bulls have been playing well without Derrick Rose this season, but as the playoffs approach the timetable for running with a full roster is rapidly dissipating. Rose missed his 24th game on Monday night (sore foot), which can be added to an alarming network of injuries that include turf toe, a strained groin, a sprained ankle and back spasms. Luol Deng also sat out with what head coach Tom Thibodeau called a rib injury, even though he is also dealing with torn ligaments in his left wrist. Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and looked at close to healthy as he may get before the playoffs, but a depleted roster contributed to a disappointing 87-84 loss to the Washington Wizards.
In the post-game press conference Thibs addressed all of these issues and more, and used the phrase "do your job" more than once to sum up Monday night's failure. Here is Thibs giving it to the media straight, via CSN-Chicago.

They were hampered by seven turnovers in the quarter, however, and that issue has limited their opportunities to put some distance between themselves and the Wizards.

Chicago Bulls PG Derrick Rose sustained a nasty cut across the bridge of his nose in Sunday night's game against the Detroit Pistons. The injury occurred when F Charlie Villanueva delivered a hard foul on Rose late in the fourth quarter.
After the game, Rose explained a bit of his frustrations:
According to Rose, this is not the first time he felt targeted by opposing teams:
"It’s basketball. Hit me in my face. I think he didn’t go for the ball. Whatever they called it, they called it for a reason," he said. "I was mad. Sick and tired of people trying to take cheap shots at me. I’ve got to say something.
"I really don’t know [why he gets cheap-shotted by opponents]. Probably because I don’t say anything, but I’m a man. Situations like that, you have to say something," he continued. "You’ve got to. He didn’t even aim for the ball. At least aim for the ball. I felt like he didn’t and that’s the reason why I got mad a little bit."
Derrick Rose currently leads the Bulls with 22.5 points and 7.9 assists per game, despite struggling with injuries for the majority of the season.
