Joel Pryzbilla To Sign With Portland Blazers, According To Report

After a few weeks of waiting, free agent center Joel Pryzbilla has chosen to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. It had been rumored that the center was primarily selecting between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls, but it appears that he's decided to go west.

Pryzbilla, 32, hasn't played yet this season after splitting last season between Portland and the Charlotte Bobcats. Drafted by Milwaukee with the ninth overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, he joined Portland in 2004 and didn't leave until being traded to Charlotte last year.

Standing at 7-foot-1, he's the prototypical center that clogs up the post, offering rebounding and defense but little to nothing in terms of offensive skills. He's started at least nine games in each of his 11 NBA seasons, but he's averaged just four points per game in his career.

NBA Free Agents: Joel Przybilla Still Deciding Between Bulls, Heat

This certainly won't be the most important battle between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls in the 2011-2012 season, but it may have a say in deciding regular season and/or playoff games somewhere down the line. Free agent center Joel Przybilla is still weighing whether to sign with the Bulls or the Heat, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Przybilla averages only four points and six rebounds per game for his career, and has only played in 66 games over the last three seasons, but seven footers don't grow on trees, and thus the two best teams in the Eastern Conference are hot on his tail.
