The Chicago Bulls fell to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders.
After playing them tight for most of the first two quarters, the Chicago Bulls allowed the Philadelphia 76ers to pull away in the third. Going into the fourth quarter, the Bulls now trail 75-55 against one of the league's best home teams.
It was a brutal third quarter for Chicago, which could only muster 11 points on offense. The defense wasn't much better, either, with Philadelphia cruising to 27 points and a huge fourth quarter lead. Other than Derrick Rose, the Bulls have just really struggled, shooting just 38 percent from the field combined.
Rose leads Chicago with 18 points on 8-of-17 shooting so far. Carlos Boozer and C.J. Watson have also scored nine points apiece. Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala has had a big game so far with 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Thaddeus Young, Jrue Holiday and Lavoy Allen have all scored in the double-digits as well.

The Philadelphia 76ers are leading 49-44 against the Chicago Bulls going into halftime on Wednesday night. After the 76ers ended the first quarter on a 16-4 run, the two teams played nearly evenly in the second quarter and now the Bulls trail by just five points. Philadelphia has only lost at home twice this season.
The advantage that Philadelphia has had in this game is minimal. Both teams are shooting an identical 49 percent from the field so far and rebounding has been nearly equal. Really, the 76ers' only obvious advantage so far has been at the free throw line, where they have made 5-of-6 while the Bulls have made just 1-of-3.
Derrick Rose was impressive in the first half for Chicago, leading all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting while dishing six assists. The Bulls also got a solid half from Carlos Boozer, who added eight points and seven rebounds. Philadelphia got key performances from its bench, as Sixth Man of the Year candidate Thaddeus Young scored 11 points to lead the team while fellow reserve Lavoy Martin added eight points.

The Chicago Bulls are trailing 27-21 on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers through one period on Wednesday night. Philadelphia has been dominant at home, winning 11 of its first 13 games there.
The first quarter was tightly contested, although the 76ers went on a 16-4 run to end the first quarter after the Bulls took an early lead. Chicago shot a solid 48 percent in the quarter, but Philadelphia was far better at 60 percent. The 76ers were also a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range while making their only free throw attempt of the quarter.
Derrick Rose led the Bulls in scoring with seven points but shot just 3-of-8 from the field, while Kyle Korver added six points. Carlos Boozer and Ronnie Brewer scored four points apiece to round out Chicago's scoring. Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala leads all scorers with nine points and Lavoy Allen has come off the bench to add six points himself.

The Chicago Bulls are visting the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders. Everyone expected Chicago to be one of the league's best teams once again after posting the best record in the NBA last season, but Philadelphia's early-season dominance has been a bit of a shocker to most fans.
While most people expected the 76ers to be pretty solid, nobody quite expected anything like this. Philadelphia has dominated opponents so far, allowing opponents to score less per game than anyone else in the league (including Chicago). Like the Bulls, the 76ers are keyed by an athletic point guard (Jrue Holiday) and a defensive beast on the wings (Andre Iguodala), and they take advantage of impressive depth.
But for Chicago, any game is truly winnable, and Philadelphia will likely find that out on Wednesday night. While the Bulls haven't been quite as dominant on the road and the 76ers have lost just twice in 13 games at home this season, the Bulls showed against the Miami Heat that they're capable of beating any team on the road.
Even with Luol Deng and Rip Hamilton missing the game due to injury, expect a highly competitive game between two of the Eastern Conference's most impressive outfits.

Bulls Vs. 76ers Final Score: Chicago Falls 98-82 In Philly
We've seen slip-ups from a few of the NBA's elite teams this year thanks to the condensed regular season -- look no further than Oklahoma City losing a game to the Wizards -- and tonight the Chicago Bulls had a slip-up of their own. The Bulls were ran off the court in Philadelphia by the 76ers in a 98-82 loss on Wednesday night. Philadelphia grabbed control of the game in the third quarter when they outscored Chicago 26-11 and the Bulls were unable to put together a run in the fourth. The loss drops Chicago to 18-6, while Philadelphia improves to 16-6.
Philadelphia wing Andre Iguodala was truly fantastic throughout, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. He had help, as three 76ers' reserves also reached double-figures. Thaddeus Young had 19 points and eight rebounds, Lavoy Allen scored 15, and Lou Williams added 14 points.
C.J. Watson led Chicago with 20 points off the bench. Derrick Rose scored 18 and had six assists.
Chicago played the game without starters Luol Deng and Richard Hamilton.
