Magic vs. Bulls recap: Chicago pulls out 99-93 victory

Dennis Wierzbicki-US PRESSWIRE

The Bulls were in a dogfight with the Magic for much of Tuesday night's game, but rode a strong fourth quarter to victory.

The shorthanded Orlando Magic gave the Chicago Bulls a game on Tuesday night, but an offensive explosion in the fourth quarter pushed the Bulls to a 99-93 victory. Chicago was led on the night by Luol Deng, who posted 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists, and was also buoyed by its front line.

That ferocious three-man rotation of Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson combined for 44 points, 22 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks, and put the clamps on Orlando's big men. Glen Davis and Nikola Vucevic, Orlando's starting power forward and center, each put up 16 points and 10 rebounds, but shot only 12-35 from the field combined.

Orlando's bench, which is stocked with bigs like Gustavo Ayon and Josh McRoberts, was limited to just 14 points on the night, 10 of which came from J.J. Redick. Gibson and Nate Robinson were both in double-digits off the bench for the Bulls.

Chicago will be back on the court on Thursday night when they host the defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
