After winning their first exhibition game earlier this week, the Chicago Bulls meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in Champaign, Ill., on Friday night.
"(Tuesday's game) gave us a baseline, and we're striving for improvement each and every day," coach Tom Thibodeau said in a report by Nick Friedell of ESPNChicago.com. "We want to be a well-balanced team, we've got to be on both sides of the ball."
The Bulls defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 92-88, in the United Center on Tuesday as five players, including three starters, scored in double figures.
Luol Deng had a game-high 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor, also going 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. Other double-digit scorers included Joakim Noah (10), Richard Hamilton (13), Nazr Mohammed (13), and Nate Robinson (13).
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers dropped their first preseason game against an NBA opponent, 97-80, to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Point guard Kyrie Irving was the team's second-leading scorer in the contest, going for 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field. First-round draft pick Dion Waiters scored two points on 1-of-7 shooting from the floor in 14 minutes of action.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at the University of Illinois's Assembly Hall.
