Luol Deng Injury: Bulls SF To Return To Lineup Within A Week

The Chicago Bulls may be without Luol Deng for long. The small forward will return to Chicago's lineup within a week, according to a source that spoke with Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Deng has torn ligaments in his left wrist, which are causing him to miss Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers.

According to Wojnarowski, Deng is expected to play on Sunday when the Bulls face the Miami Heat. That's a huge game for the Bulls as they face the team that knocked them out of the postseason last year. Doctors have told Deng that he's going to need surgery on his wrist at some point, but that would likely keep him out for three to four months.

Chicago currently has the best record in the NBA at 16-3, and Deng is arguably the second-best player on the team behind reigning MVP Derrick Rose. He's an impact defender on the wings and a solid scoring option, so his status is really important going forward.
