Bulls Vs. Wizards: Derrick Rose Expected To Play Despite Injury

The words "Derrick Rose" and "injury" are enough to keep any Bulls fan awake at night, but the MVP insists that he can play despite an injured big toe.

You wouldn't have guessed it based on his scintillating second half, but Derrick Rose re-injured his left big toe in Tuesday night's 111-100 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to Rose, the turf toe he has been battling since his second year in the league began to flare up after Minnesota's Anthony Tolliver fell on the back of Rose's foot, jamming his toes into the ground.

Despite the injury, and the fact that the Bulls could likely beat the lowly Wizards even without Rose, the reigning MVP insisted Tuesday that he will be in the line up on Wednesday night:

"I've been having turf toe since my second year," he said. "I'm fine ... (Wednesday) I'm not sitting out, I know that. I will be playing."
