Jim Cornelison is familiar to all Chicago sports fans for his stirring rendition of the National Anthem at Blackhawks games; he’s also sung at Cubs and White Sox games and at Bears playoff games last January.
Today, the Bulls announced that Cornelison will sing the anthem before Game 1 of the Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks Eastern Conference semifinal series. It seems especially appropriate given President Obama’s announcement late last night.
Here’s hoping TNT’s national broadcast covers this always-stirring rendition of the anthem of our country, especially on this day.
If they don’t — and even if they do, it’s worth hearing as often as you can — here’s Cornelison singing the National Anthem before Game 1 of the Blackhawks vs. Flyers Stanley Cup Final last May.
