Gauthier got his start in Montreal as the team's Director of Professional Scouting back in 2003. He became Montreal's GM in February of 2010 and was relieved of those duties in March of 2012. Prior to working for Montreal, Gauthier had GM stints with Ottawa and Anaheim, and prior to those stops, he served in various scouting capacities for the Quebec Nordiques.
