Blackhawks Sign Adam Clendening To 3-Year Deal

On Friday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks signed second-round pick Adam Clendening to a three-year contract. The 19-year-old defenseman was drafted by the Hawks with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He earned Hockey East All-Rookie honors and an honorable mention to the Hockey East All-Star team as a freshman at Boston University and followed that up by being named to the Hockey East All-Star First-Team and the All-New England Division-I All-Star team in 2011-12.

Clendening won gold with Team USA at the 2009 and 2010 Under-18 World Championships as well, and now he will get an opportunity to start his NHL journey after officially joining the Blackhawks organization.
