Blackhawks Roster: Chicago Re-Signs Veteran Defenseman Johnny Oduya

According to CBS Chicago, the Chicago Blackhawks have come to terms with 30-year-old D Johnny Oduya, retaining Oduya for another three seasons. The journeyman defender started the season with the Winnipeg Jets before coming to Chicago in a late February trade.

In his 18 games with the Blackhawks in the 2011-12 season, Oduya played strong defense and earned a playoff roster spot. He finished the season with a defensive point share total of 2.4, and with the 'Hawks, he averaged 3.41 defensive point shares per 1500 minutes -- good for the third best defensive numbers on the team.
