The Chicago Blackhawks finished up the regular season with a shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings, but they were not able to improve their seeding. They finished in sixth place in the Western Conference, and they'll face the No. 3 seed Phoenix Coyotes in the first round. The Coyotes finished the regular season with fewer points than Chicago but earned a higher seed by virtue of winning their division.
