The Chicago Blackhawks continue to trail the Phoenix Coyotes 1-0 heading into the third and final period.
The Blackhawks have out-shot the Coyotes through the first two periods, firing 22 shots on goal to the Coyotes' 14. But with the Coyotes winning more faceoffs (24-18) and snagging more takeaways (5-2), the Phoenix offense has managed to make many more quality shots on G Corey Crawford and the Blackhawks defense.
RW Michael Frolik (4 SOG), C Dave Bolland (3 SOG) and LW Viktor Stalberg (3 SOG) have all applied pressure to G Mike Smith, but a trio of two-minutes penalties from Stalberg have kept the Blackhawks shorthanded most of the night.
