Blackhawks Vs. Coyotes, 2012 NHL Playoffs Game 1: Chicago Leads 1-0

Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago Blackhawks are leading 1-0 over the Phoenix Coyotes after one period in the opening game of the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blackhawks are hoping to get a key road win to begin the series as they hope to knock off the third-seeded Coyotes.

Jonathan Toews quickly showed everyone in the crowd that he's back in action on Thursday, scoring Chicago's first and only goal just minutes into the game. The Chicago captain has missed the past 22 games while dealing with a concussion, and it has to be good news that he looks to be in good shape thus far.

The Blackhawks outshot the Coyotes 11-8 in the first period. Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford saved all eight shots that came his way.
