The Blackhawks and Coyotes meet in Game 1 of their first round series on Thursday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks open up their 2012 Stanley Cup playoff run on Thursday night in Phoenix, and Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith should prove a tough challenge for a potent Chicago offense.

In four regular season meetings, Phoenix beat Chicago three times, shutting out the Blackhawks once. Chicago finished the regular season fifth in the NHL in goals scored per game, and with a defense that has been shaky at times this season, it may be that the offense is what the team will have to rely on for a series win against Phoenix, and any further success in the postseason.

Game Date & Time: Thursday, April 12, 9:00 p.m. CT

TV: CSN-Chicago, NBC Sports Network
