Blackhawks Vs Avalanche Preview: Hawks In Desparate Need Of A Win

Stay connected for news and updates

Blackhawks and Avalanche both in horrible slumps.

The first few months of the NHL season, their was nobody hotter than the Chicago Blackhawks. Boy have times changed. The Hawks enter Tuesday's game with Colorado having lost their previous five games. The team that was the number one seed in the Western Conference for a log stretch, enters their game against the Avalanche in the sixth spot in the West.

One positive for the Blackhawks is that Colorado is also struggling. The Avalanche have also lost their previous five games and if the playoffs began today, Colorado would not be in them.

Scheduled to start in goal for Chicago is Ray Emery (11-4-2, 2.73) and for Colorado is Jean-Sebastien Giguere (12-9-2, 2.09)
.

Tuesday's game is the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams. Colorado has won two of the first three including a 4-0 victory in their last meeting.

Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 CST. The game will be televised on CSN.
