It took over half of February, but the Chicago Blackhawks finally ended their nine-game losing streak on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers. The Blackhawks exploded in stunning fashion with four goals in the game's first ten minutes, establishing a massive lead in a frantic manner.

From there, the Blackhawks just needed to do something that they've struggled to do lately, and that's prevent goals. On Thursday, Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford did enough, saving 22 of the 24 shots that came his way in order to preserve a much-needed victory for the plummeting Blackhawks.

Chicago got production from four different players to build the lead, getting goals from Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Nick Leddy and Patrick Sharp. Toews, Hossa and Patrick Kane each got one assist apiece, while Brent Seabrook got two. New York got its first goal in the second period from Marc Staal, his first of the season, and the second one came late in the third period from Carl Hagelin.
