Blackhawks Vs. Sharks Score Update: Sharks Lead 2-0 After One

Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago Blackhawks attempt at ending their six game losing streak is not off to a great start. The San Jose Sharks scored two goals in the first period on Friday night, and will take a comfortable lead into the first intermission.

Both of the Sharks' goals in the first period came from unlikely sources. Defenseman Justin Braun got the scoring started early in the first on the power play, but his goal— which came on assists from Logan Couture and Brent Burns— was only his second of the year. San Jose was able to stage a repeat of that episode just under ten minutes later when defenseman Dan Boyle put one past Corey Crawford, a goal that also came on the power play. It was Boyle's fifth of the season, and it came on assists from Braun and Couture.
