The Chicago Blackhawks host the Edmonton Oilers at the United Center on Monday.

According to the Twitter account of Chicago Blackhawks blog @CheerTheAnthem, the 'Hawks are the NHL's only team yet to lose in regulation after scoring the first goal of the game, to the tune of a 14-0-1 record. After star center Jonathan Toews scored the first -- and thus far, only -- goal during the first period on Monday against the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago fans will be hoping the trend can remain true.

Toews beat Edmonton goalie Devan Dubnyk for his team-leading 22nd goal of the year off an assist from Daniel Carcillo.

The two teams played mostly even during the first period at the United Center. Each team put 10 shots on goal, while the Oilers held a slight edge in faceoff wins (9-7) and Chicago held a slight edge in hits (9-8).

Each team drew one penalty in the opening period. Carcillo was whistled for a two-minute minor for hooking, while Corey Potter of the Oilers was sent to the bench for holding Patrick Sharp.
