Blackhawks Vs. Panthers Score Update: Panthers Tie Score At 2-2, Overtime Coming

The Chicago Blackhawks were just a few minutes away from their eighth victory of the season on Thursday night, but things have quickly become a whole lot more interesting in Florida. While the Blackhawks led the Florida Panthers 2-1 for most of the third period, the Panthers' Ed Jovanovski scored on Corey Crawford with just over two minutes left in the game.

It was only the second goal of the season for the Panthers defenseman, but it came at an awfully good time. The Blackhawks haven't been nearly as good on the road as they've been at home this season, and we can add blowing a two-goal lead against the Panthers to examples of that. Overtime's already started, so get back to your television to watch this game's conclusion.

Blackhawks Vs. Panthers Score Update: Hawks Still Leading, 2-1 After Two Periods

The Chicago Blackhawks were up by one goal after the first period and they're still up by one after the second, but both teams scored one goal apiece in the second period. The Blackhawks score in the first period to put them up 1-0 over the Florida Panthers on the road while another goal in the second made it 2-0, but a late-period goal by Florida cut the lead to 2-1.

Chicago's Marian Hossa scored his sixth goal of the season less than five minutes into the second period to put Chicago up 2-0, and it looked like they could be on their way to a decisive victory. But Florida managed to keep them off the scoreboard for the remainder of the period, and Stephen Weiss was able to put it in the back of the net to cut Chicago's lead in half.

The Blackhawks haven't been great on the road this season, but they're one period from bumping themselves above .500 away from the United Center this season.

Blackhawks Vs. Panthers Score Update: Chicago Leads 1-0 After 1st Period

The Chicago Blackhawks got off to a quick start in Miami, and the crowd went...well, we can at least verify the existence of a crowd.

Jonathan Toews got the Blackhawks on the board a little over four minutes into the game with his fifth goal of the season. The goal was subject to an official review because it appeared as though Toews may have kicked the puck illegally, but no evidence of wrongdoing was found. Not long after, Chicago's Jamal Mayers got into a scuffle with Florida's Matt Bradley, and both served five minutes for fighting.

Unofficially, the Panthers out-shot Chicago 15-7 in the first period. Good seats still available.
